Minimum flow valves
Description
The minimum flow valve in the bypass of a centrifugal pump ensures that the pump always delivers a certain minimum flow rate, otherwise it would overheat. Its design is normally open (NO) and there is usually a multi-stage breakdown orifice behind it.
The opening and closing times are adjustable to avoid hard impacts. The valve is driven by its pilot medium or by an air cylinder.
