Line break valve (pipe burst protection)
Description
Line break valves detect a rupture in a pipe to be monitored and switch as soon as the pressure drop rate [bar/min] exceeds a preset value. In the event of ‘normal’ pressure changes in the pipework, the line break valve does not react.
If it has tripped, it must be manually re-engaged (‘armed’) on site. In contrast to electronic LBS, this device works completely hydraulically and mechanically and can therefore be used independently to protect a pipeline in remote areas.
