Descaling valves
Description
Descaling valves are used to remove the scale from a slab before the rolling process. To do this, the descaling valve opens and the impulse of the pressurised water breaks up the scale on the surface of the slab.
The pipe between the valve and the spray bar is filled using a low-pressure filling system to achieve pre-filling and avoid hammers in the pipe. The opening and closing times of the valve can be adjusted to avoid these impacts.
The valve can be driven pneumatically / hydraulically or with its own medium. Descaling valves are available in spool and seat technology.
