Solenoid valves (hazardous location)
Description
Explosion-proof solenoid valves are used to control a volume flow (e.g. P->A for 2/2 or P->A // A->T for 3/2). If the solenoid is energised, the valve changes its position. The control valve is actuated directly via an explosion-proof solenoid. It is typically used as a directly actuated valve or as a pilot valve for larger nominal sizes.
The explosion protection allows it to be used in EX areas. For the solenoid, a choice can be made between molded (m), flameproof (d) and intrinsically safe solenoids (ia).
